NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream-San Paulo(SMLC08)

Hello ladies😘

It’s been a long time is’nt it? 😝 I’m back today to review ‘NYX soft matte lip cream’ in San Paulo.😊

I was so excited to know that Boots started to stock NYX Cosmetics. The first one i wanted to buy was this.!!! These lip creams were so on hype that everyone wanted to get hands on them and, so did I.!Now, let’s get right into the matter.

Product Description by NYX:

Neither lipstick nor lip gloss this matte lip cream is a new kind of lip color that goes on silky smooth and sets to a matte finish. Soft matte lip cream is surprisingly durable and unlike some matte lipstick formulas, also moisturizing.

It comes in 22 shades:

It comes in a small transparent plastic tube. The cap of the tube is a matte black one which is very attractive. The packaging is handy and very easy to choose colours as it is a transparent tube.

Price: £5.50

My Take on the product:

I have picked the shade San Paulo(SMLC08) which is a bright rosy pink colour. It comes with a regular doe foot applicator which picks the right amount of product for one swipe. The vanilla smell of this reminded me of my favourite Tiffany butter toffees😋

It is very intensely pigmented and colour pay off is excellent. One swipe is enough to give an opaque coverage to lips. It has a very creamy texture which glides on the  lips and transforms to matte finish in seconds. I have dry lips but it did’nt sit on the fine lines and did’nt give any chappy appearance. It stayed for a good 5-6 hours on my lips and survived even my one main meal. Hurrray, im impressed😍. The best part about NYX Cosmetics is that they are Cruelty-free.😊

  The ‘Good’ about it:

  • Intense pigmentation
  • Stays on for 5-6 hours with a big meal
  • Economical
  • Single swype can give opaque coverage
  • Attractive packaging
  • Handy
  • Creamy texture which transforms to matte
  • Cruelty-free

The ‘Not so good’ about it:

  • Drying
  • Not the best for dry lips
  • Not easily available
  • Would cost you high if you buy in India
  • San Paulo does’nt suit people with dark skin tones

Final Verdict:

If you are someone with fair/medium skintone and looking for a good bright pink lipstick, get your hands on this particular shade. It is super creamy but sets to matte within seconds and stays on for 5+ hours. If you have very dry lips, make sure you exfoliate your lips and see that there are no dry flaky bits on your lips or you end up with a patchy look. As im never a matte girl because of my dry lips, i bought only one shade in this. Now, Im looking forward to buy these shades too: Copenhagen and Milan.

Where to buy?

  • In uk, you can order them online from Boots for £5.50.
  • In india, i have seen a page selling NYX cosmetics. You can get it here for Rs.750.

This is how it looks on me:
